The class has started a new scientific investigation. We are looking at different materials and their properties, as well as their effect on movement and the effects of push an pull on movement. In class the students have sorted objects according their material and gone on a material hunt around the school. During outdoor learning this week they children were given the challenge of making a ball move quickly and slowly with out touching. They were very inventive creating ramps, pathways and even a catapult.

Salmon
We have a new addition to Area B, a salmon tank. The children each put a egg in the tank, named their egg an made a wish. Now we wait, watch and learn about the development of salmon.

Shelter Building
We began outdoor learning with free play and then story about a busy tree filled with homes for forest animals. the children we then asked to work in groups an create a shelter. They were asked to consider the different materials in the forest, which would be best to create a shelter and why.
