The class has recently started Genius Hour on Wednesday afternoons. A wonder wall has been set up in the classroom where the children can store some of their wonderings . Today the children chose a wonder, recorded their question and what they already know about that topic. There were queries about the earth, space, rockets, animals and how Santa's reindeer fly. Next week, they will use an iPad to start their investigations.

Outdoor Learning
In the forest today we began by reviewing our classroom goal:
"I can use materials respectively."
We brainstormed how that looks in the forest. The children then had some play time. We shared a lovely story about being thankful for things and animals in the forest. The children were then given a lump of clay and asked to create a forest animal.

Science: Sky
The class is currently investigating patterns and cycles in the sky. Last week we looked at the colour of the sky and today the children were given three different sized balls and were asked to show the relationship between the sun and moon. There was lots of conversation about which ball would represent the sun and earth and why and then how they moved. I then read a book about day and night and the children used the balls to show the cause of day and night.
