Sky Science
Today the children were given spheres and asked to demonstrate how we have day and night. They worked collaboratively with their table groups and manipulated the balls creating the movement of the earth and the sun. I then read a story called The Earth and the students went back to their groups and if necessary altered the way the earth moves around the sun using language like revolving and orbiting. They were able to clearly demonstrate their knowledge and learning.

Snowball Spelling
We played a snowball spelling activity today. Spelling words are crumpled up. The students choose one, read it, print it three times and then throw it back into the ring. Lots of fun!

Today the Space centre came to Brooksbank. It was a fantastic experience for the children. A mini planetarium was set up in the gym. After a brief introduction we all went inside. The children saw and learned about constellations, planets, the moon, stars and sun.

Remembrance Day
On Thursday the school had a Remembrance day assembly. Students read poems, sang and we had an amazing slide show. It was a very thoughtful assembly and your children were amazing respectful listeners.
The following are your children's ideas of peace.
