Outdoor Learning: Shadows

The focus for outdoor learning today was shadows.  On the way up to the forest we looked for shadows. When we arrives a the baseball area the students played shadow tag with a buddy.  Mrs. Kristensen read a story about shadows and then the children created structures to further their investigation into shadows.  The inquiry was,  "What colours are shadows?"
The children leaned that all shadows are not black.  When light passes through coloured translucent or transparent objects the shadow it that colour.
