Outdoor Learning: Heart Hunt

We started out outside time with a roll down a big hill.  Lots of squeals of delight.  After some free play we shared a book called Find a Heart, Share a Heart.  The children were given the challenge of finding and creating hearts in nature.

Math: Measurement

The class has started an investigation into measurement.  Within this unit students will be using non-standard units to measurement objects.  Below you will see the children using string to determine which car went the farthest as well as ordering plasticine snakes from shortest to longest.

Science World

On Tuesday we spent the day at Science World.  The children had an amazing time. I'm sure they came home exhausted.  They had plenty of exploration time and also took part in a workshop called Ramp it Up.  They took part in a variety of activities that reinforced the forces of push and pull and the effects of friction on movement.  They also worked in groups to create a course of ramps and pathways to move a ball from one end of a board to the other.
