Work and Play

This week's letter was Aa.  Students started their day by making the letter Aa and things that begin with Aa, using modelling clay.  They then worked on a Thankful book and had some free time before recess.

Fall Walk

In the afternoon we went for a Fall walk.  Students looked for leaves, identified fall colours and listened to the sounds as we walked on fallen leaves.

Choosing

Today we started choosing with the whole open area.  The students were very excited to choose one of the 22 stations.

 

 

 

 

Outdoor Learning; Day 1

Today we had our first outdoor learning session.  We walked up to the forest behind Sutherland school.  Mrs. Kristensen and myself went over some safety guidelines (call back, bounderies etc) and then the children had some free time play in the forest.  There were groups of children making forts, children exploring and others looking for insects.

 

 

 

After play time, we met at the 'story log' for a story called Everybody Needs a Rock.  After the story,  we walked down to the creek where the children gleefully jumped into the creek to find their own rock.
