Buddy Class

On Tuesday we got together with our grade 4/5 buddy class.  The students were given an owl pellet to dissect.  The children then used charts provided to determine the bones and the animal that was consumed by the owl.

 

 

 

 

 

Money, money money

As a final money activity, students were to do a chore, earn a dollar and bring it to school on Tuesday.  The children were then able to purchase some items from the 'store'.  They were responsible for counting their coins to make a purchase and then recording their purchase and how much it cost.   It was a fun learning activity.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Outdoor Learning - Community

The children started their day by finding an invitation to a Talking Circle on their table this morning.

After some playing and exploring in the forest the children were brought together in a circle and read the story; The Pine Forest Community.  In the story the animals learn that taking care on their own needs does not make a community strong but looking for the greater need of all does.  After reading, the children shared their ideas with a partner and then with the whole group.
