Science: Sky
The class is currently investigating patterns and cycles in the sky. Last week we looked at the colour of the sky and today the children were given three different sized balls and were asked to show the relationship between the sun and moon. There was lots of conversation about which ball would represent the sun and earth and why and then how they moved. I then read a book about day and night and the children used the balls to show the cause of day and night.

Outdoor Learning: Sky
Today for outdoor learning we introduced the Big Idea: Observable patterns and cycles occur in the local sky. I read the story Raven , about how Raven brings sunlight to the earth. The children then observed and recorded what they could see in the sky. We then headed into the forest for some play and exploration time. They children also had some fun rolling down a huge hill.
