Exploration!

On Tuesday we headed out for outdoor learning with a plan in place.  Our plan was postponed when  a group of students discovered a Christmas tree.  They worked together to free it form a pile of branches and drag/carry it to and open space.  They then problem solved as to how to get it to stand. It was amazing to see them all working together.  After managing to get it standing by supporting it with branches and and rocks the children found things to decorated it.  They then formed a circle around the tree and broke into Christmas carols.

After celebrating Christmas again, we reviewed the terms opaque, transparent and translucent.  The students then used their flashlights and clipboards to record times that had one of those attributes.
