Outdoor Learning

Today was our first outdoor learning afternoon.  We walked up to the forest behind Sutherland High School.   Students were shown the boundaries and taught the return call (wolf howl).  I read a story and the children had exploration/ play time.  Some of the activities the children were doing included  making forts, climbing, looking for insects and animal tracks and building insect homes.  Groups of children worked together to move heavy logs and create a 'Spirit Halloween tree".
